Carnival

Here are a few pictures from the night we went to the carnival at Cattlemen's Days. Brooks and Ty could not get enough, they rode almost everything and way more than one time. They loved this one with the shooters
I think this is funny of Ty, he was really getting into it.
Can't miss the carousel
Cooper rode this too but I didn't get a picture because I was having to hold him on his horse. Ty wanted to ride the carousel, but sit on the bench, not the horses.

This giant slide was by far Brooks' favorite thing. He had to have done this ride 50 time.
He LOVED it!
He would slide down and just head right back up
Riding in the car with Porter. Ty really enjoyed the rides this year.

Cooper did not want to ride much, but I forced him into this little car. It just went around in circles. (and not very fast) He went along because Porter was riding. It was about half way through this ride that I remembered he gets car sick. I think all the rides upset his stomach. He was on one that I thought we were going to have to ask them to stop. Ever time he went past he was licking his mouth and not looking healthy. (He really is his father's boy!)
There was one ride that was way more Cooper's 'speed' It was this tiny little train that just went around and around, and around. It was the longest and slowest ride and we all just had to stand there and wait for Cooper.
He was the king on the train--couldn't be bothered for a picture--he would march right out and pick a car, he was really proud of 'his' ride
Ty riding the dragons with Porter and Brooks. These were like a tilt a whirl.
Cooper wanted no part of the spinning dragon
(really hard to get a picture of a spinning ride)
We had a great time and the big boys are already asking when the fair will be back in town.

Cattlemen's Days

Cattlemen's Days is the local rodeo and fair in Gunnison. This year for the first time we took the boys to the rodeo. Ty had been learning about the rodeo at school and was excited to go. He first asked if we could go to the pinocchio-then got closer by calling it the radio. Our seats were not great and the boys had a little trouble telling what they were seeing. Of course the events like bronc riding and team roping were over very quickly so they missed some of the action by the time they found what they were suppose to be watching. Our friends the Washburns watch right here at the fence, but we decided that was a little close for our 'city slicker' taste. We didn't want to stick out that bad.
We had a really fun evening at the rodeo. I have tons of pictures from the carnival and I will sort them out and get them posted in the next day or two.

Fun at the Pool

The last time we were in Denver we took the boys (all 4) to a fun pool with lots of slides, a gradual entry and playground things for the little boys. A rain storm had blown through and most everyone had left for the evening, but we took advantage of the small group and had a great time. It was a little cool, and Cooper was cold most of the time, but we had fun none the less. The gradual entry makes such a difference. It is so nice when the little boys can walk in and be free of just having to be held the whole time.
Brooks was scared of the big yellow slide, but did do it, and of course loved it and went back over and over again!
Evan is a great swimmer and had so much fun swimming with the boys. He was a great help when I needed an extra set of hands!
Poor Cooper was so tired and then cold most of the afternoon.
He did love his Independence thought.
It is nice that he could walk out and be on his own a little bit.

Brooks on the small slide. Ready for splash down.
I love the look on Ty's face--pure joy--he loved that slide. It looks like he is just sitting there, but it was an action shot.

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! A picture with everyone looking. It is not great of Brooks, but really good of the 3 monkeys in the front.
What a fun afternoon.

Hiking With the Boys

Today I took the boys for a hike on a trail called the lower loop. I use the term hike loosely more like a nature walk. The lower loop is very gradual and grated, but they seemed to have a good time.It was a very pretty morning and nice to be out. There were lots of people using the trail, so I felt like I was having to keep them out of the other peoples way a lot of the time. We took our time and had fun. This was an old tree that had fallen over and they loved climbing on and around it.

Brooks finally made it up with a little help.
Ty finally made it with a little help. This was a split second before Ty fell off the trunk. He was so unbalanced and I asked him to take his hat off for a picture, when I did that he fell off. He was very upset. Exploring......
Ty ever the cautious one would not go look any closer I wish the lighting had been better on this picture. I didn't want to carry my big camera so I only had my little one, but I still think this is a pretty cute shot. I don't know why Brooks is posed like this
(then Ty was mad because Brooks had been blocking him in the last shot)
Brooks attempting to help Ty "look at the camera" 2 out of 3 looking isn't bad
We had fun and the boys were exhausted. Brooks and Ty fell asleep on the short car ride home........must have been too much fresh air.
